Police informed that an unidentified militant was killed in a gunfight with government forces in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district Thursday morning.
The gunfight broke out in Salkot area of Kupwara in early Thursday morning after forces launched an operation in the area acted on a tip-off about the presence of militants there.
“A gunfight between militants and forces resulted in killing of an unidentified militant,” the police official informed.
Police further informed some arms and ammunition from the encounter site were recovered along with the body of the unidentified militant.
