At a time when ‘resurgent’ Congress is castigating India’s PM Narendra Modi for his abroad visits, former chief minister Omar Abdullah Tuesday defended Modi on twitter saying PM Modi should not be “faulted” for his visits abroad.

“PM Modi can be faulted for a lot of things but travelling abroad is the wrong one to find fault with, he should travel & engage overseas,” Omar tweeted.

Pertinently, the Congress on Friday came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for attacking the opposition during his visit to Canada, saying “the PM demeaned the country”.

Modi has visited several countries since becoming India’s Prime Minister in May last year.
