Srinagar police has arrested a notorious car lifter and solved 13 motor vehicle theft case, a statement said on Wednesday.
Police Station Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Sadder and SP South solved 13 motor vehicle theft cases and recovered 15 stolen vehicles after arresting a notorious car lifter namely Bashir Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Subhan Sheikh resident of Char-e-Sharif.
The stolen vehicles have been recovered on the disclosure of the car lifter. These vehicles have been stolen from Rajbagh area and other parts of the valley.
With the recoveries of these vehicles, Police Station Rajbagh have solved its own FIR numbers 61/13 RPC, 63/13, 72/13, 78/13, 23/14, 107/13, 33/14, 39/14, 46/14, 56/14, of Police Station Rajbagh under section 379, FIR number 311/14 of Police Station Islamabad, FIR number 15/15 of Police Station Kulgam, FIR number 08/15 of Police Station Karan Nagar and recovered Maruti 800 cars bearing registration numbers JK01E/0788, JK01J/1797, JK01K/1870, Maruti zen cars bearing registration numbers JK01D/7887, JK04/0111, JK14A/3987, Alto car bearing registration number JK01J/7363, Santro car bearing registration number JK01G 7020, Tavera vehicles bearing registration numbers HR 63 5605, JK14A/5374, 03 Maruti cars without registration number and 02 Maruti cars have been seized under section 550 CrPC.
Police said that further investigation is going on in this regard.
