As the crises between alliance partners BJP-PDP seemed deepening , Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) General Secretary and party head of Kashmir affairs, Ram Madhav on Monday clarified that “there is no rift between alliance partners.”

“There is no rift between BJP-PDP,” Madhav said while speaking with news agency ANI.

“There is some issue regarding MLC election .We noticed lack of communication, will address it” he said.

The rift between alliance partners surfaced after an independent MLA supposed to vote for PDP in MLC elections voted for BJP. The crises were surged after a BJP minister’s outraged statement on way to deal with protests faced widespread condemnations. PDP spokesperson called him a fringe element. The minister later apologised over his statement.

Madhav’s statement came after Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti earlier in day met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister in Delhi to discuss the current situation in Kashmir.

“It is important to hold talks at the latest… There is a need for conducive atmosphere for talks, and for governance,” Chief Minister said.

She said that,“I discussed the issue of less voting percentage in recent elections, and security situation in Jammu and Kashmir with Prime Minister Modi.”
