SRINAGAR
Militants have allegedly shot dead an NC worker in old Srinagar city, a wire agency report said.
Identified as Mohammad Latif Gupkari, report said he was shot at by motorcycle-riding militants in Nowhatta. He was rushed to SKIMS where he breathed his last, the agency quoted police saying.
Efforts to reach police failed because BSNL and other services were literally paralyzed.
Though the floods had kept militancy away, this is the second militancy related incident in recent days. Earlier an encounter was reported near LoC in which four militants were reportedly killed.
