In continuation with his visit to flood affected areas in Srinagar,chairman Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar  Farooq Saturday visited the areas of Shivpora,Sonwar,Batwara and its adjoining areas and interacted with the affected population who are  staying either in various  relief camps or  their homes. He was apprised of the great hardships and difficulties faced by the affected people there.

While relating their  woes and misiries, according to statement  people told Mirwaiz that “since the floods no Government official had visited the area or offered any kind of relief and assistance,which is highly condemnable.”

While expressing his sympathies and support for the people Miwaiz said that that in these extremely trying times he and the people of Kashmir stand with them and feel their pain and suffering and extend their help and support in every possible manner.

Mirwaiz said that the role of the Kashmiri youth during the floods  in providing relief and rescue to the people  is exemplary and  highly  commendable.The spirit of brotherhood,courage, helpfulness and humanity displayed by the youth of the valley is praiseworthy.

Mirwaiz  distributed  relief including food and other essential items  among the affected people from the central relief cell Mirwaiz Manzil.
