Terming the policies of government regarding the Kashmiri prisoners lodged in Kashmir and outside jails as ‘inhuman and against the tenets of justice’, the chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (M) and head of Awami Mutehda Majlis-e-Amal Mirwaiz Dr Umar Farooq has demanded unconditional release of all the Kashmiri prisoners.

Addressing a gathering at Masjid Malik Sahib Safakadal, Mirwaiz stated that it was highly regrettable that instead of releasing the Kashmiri prisoners, the government was adding more to their numbers by arresting people from across the valley. “More than 18 youth alone were arrested in old city for peacefully protesting the Israeli aggression on Palestine,” he said.

Keeping up with the tradition, Mirwaiz stated that the coming Jumait-ul-vida would be observed as Youm-e-Kashmir and Youm-e-Qudus.

He stated that the situation from middle-east to Kashmir demands that Kashmiris should show full solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians and complete commitment with the right to self-determination. Mirwaiz has stressed upon the people to look after the needy and poor on the eve of Eid-Ul-Fitr.
