Bijbehara town in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district is observing shutdown following death of three local Hizbul Mujahideen militants.

Reports reaching here said that the town wears deserted look as all the shops, establishments, schools are closed. There is minimal traffic movement as well.

Three Hizb militants were killed on Monday evening in Islamabad’s Ashmuqam area. Normal life remained affected in valley on Tuesday as Hurriyat (g) chairperson, Syed Ali Geelani, called for one day shutdown following the militant trio killing.

Witnesses said that youth of Bijbehara had asked local committees of Bijbehara Masjids not offer congregational Friday prayers today instead people were asked to attend same at Bijbehara’s main Jamia Masjid.
