Minister of State for Finance Pawan Kumar Gupta Saturday expressed hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon announce special package for the developments of the state, especially for the rehabilitation of flood victims.

“We are expecting a genuine package for the rehabilitation of the flood victims. I hope Prime Minister Narendra Modi announce it soon,” Pawan Gupta told KNS over phone.

He said that he was “unaware” of the final outcome of the talks his serious colleague in JK’s finance ministry had with Union Government. “It is my senior colleague who is talking to New Delhi, not me, so I don’t know what has actually transpired in the talks,” he said.

Gupta said that the government is committed to peace, prosperity and development of state. “We are very much committed for the progress and development of Jammu and Kashmir. Coalition government is fully aware of problems being faced by the people and all out efforts are being made to fulfil their demands on priority,” he said.

He reiterated the commitment of the Coalition Government to ensure holistic development of all the regions of the state with special focus on remote, far flung and rural areas. “State is on the march of peace, progress and development under this regime and sought people’s whole hearted support to strengthen the hands of the Government,” he said.
