SRINAGAR: Unknown youth have attacked on the People Democratic Party (PDP) convection in a Kulgam village that left three workers injured. They resorted to stone pelting at a time when the party leaders including Rural Development Minister Abdul Haq Khan were on the dice.

Photo evidence suggests that the few stones landed in the periphery of the venue – outside the Dak Bungalow, near the parking lot at a time when the speeches were given on inside. All the three were hit in their heads and were quickly moved to the hospital in a sumo vehicle.

While Khan and the local police officials skipped talking on the subject, the doctors at the local hospital told Kashmir Life that the three injured were given basic medical aid and were discharged. “They are all ok,” a doctor said.

After the attack, there was no report of any police action, so far.

CM Ms Mehbooba Mufti visited some polling stations in Islamabad on Wednesday along with her brother Tasaduq Mufti.

South Kashmir is still in a fluid state after it took the massive brunt in the 2016 unrest. Political parties which are contesting polls have made special security arrangements for campaigning given the security threat perception.
