SRINAGAR

Accompanying his confidante and party provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Monday had to face tough time. Omar’s buddy, Nasir had to file nomination papers from Srinagar’s Amira Kadal assembly segment.

According to reports, Nasir was followed by good gathering of supporters in a rally from Gupkar. The scenario changed when Omar and Wani came out of the Srinagar’s DC office and had to face hostile crowd. Pro freedom and anti National Conference slogans erupted as youth gathered outside the gate.

With charged atmosphere, Saira, an old lady came in front of Omar and did not allow him to reach his vehicle.  Resident of Shivpora Batwara, Saira joined by other protesters raised their voice against the slow pace of relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims. The public alleged that during the last six years Omar government has only befooled the people and now they have also failed to give rehabilitation to the flood victims.

Saira was not the victim of floods only. Having lost everything and no shelter to survivor, she  alleged and complained to Omar that the remaining  three kanals of land were grabbed by Peoples Democratic Party’s senior leader.

Omar came down from his bullet proof vehicle and assured the lady to solve her problem .

The confusion remained there for quite some time. However, the security personnel managed the angry protesters and made possible, a passage for Omar. And the lady grieved that though she brought the matter in CM’s notice but to no avail. (Name has been changed)
