KU-Chanakya IAS Seminar at Hazratbal on May 31, 2016

University of Kashmir on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New Delhi-based Chanakya IAS Academy to train civil services aspirants from Kashmir.

The coaching programme shall be undertaken by the Academy in collaboration with the University’s Centre for Career Planning and Counselling (CCPC), a varsity statement said this evening.

The pact was signed by University’s Registrar Prof Musadiq Amin Sahaf, and A K Mishra, Managing Director of Chanakya Academy.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi, who inaugurated a seminar ‘Art of Success’ during the MOU-signing event, said the University is committed to provide right atmosphere for J&K’s civil services aspirants and have them guided and taught by reputed experts from mainland India.

“University is in the process of commissioning the new state-of-the-art building of CCPC which shall take care of logistic and infrastructural needs of civil services aspirants, and aspirants for other competitive examinations as well,” he said.

The seminar, where A K Mishra delivered a talk on ‘Art of Success’, saw participation of students from across the Valley.

“Our endeavour is not only to offer quality teaching and research on the campus, but also to connect with the society through initiatives like coaching and training our youngsters for various competitive examinations in most professional manner,” he said.

On the occasion, the recent qualifiers of civil services from Kashmir—Athar Amir-ul-Shafi, Sheema Nabi, Deeba Farhat, Basharat Qayoom—were felicitated by the University and Chanakya Academy.
