Paying glowing tributes to the 1990 “martyr’s” of the GawKadal, Handwara and Kupwara massacres on their martyrdom anniversaries, the joint resistance leadership said the selfless sacrifices of these “martyrs” would not be allowed to go waste as the deep wounds and scars of Kashmiris would not be healed by the fake slogans of ‘healing touch’.

The statement said India just witnessed one Jallianwala Bagh “massacre” but the General Dyer of that time of Government of India, Governor Jagmohan carried many Jallianwala Bagh like “massacres” in every nook and corner of Kashmir and Gaw Kadal, Handwara and Kupwara “massacres” were just a few of those numerous “massacres” at a time when Mufti Mohammad Saeed was the Home minister of India.

The joint statement said observing the “martyrdom” anniversaries of these people every year not only reminds people of the “atrocities” carried by the Indian forces but also gives people the strength and makes them more determined to carry forward the “resistance movement” to its logical conclusion and make the mission of these “martyrs” a national mission and mission for every Muslim.

The statement said in connection with the anniversaries of the “martyrs”, programmes would be held on January 21 at Gaw Kadal, January 25 at Handwara, and January 27 at Kupwara in which glowing tributes would be paid to these “martyrs” and all the “martyrs” of Kashmir and people would once again resolve not to rest till the mission of these martyrs reaches its ultimate conclusion.

The joint statement said on January 21, Gaw Kadal and its adjacent areas would observe a complete shutdown, while on January 25, Handwara and on January 27 Kupwara would witness a complete shutdown.
