A high level emergency meeting of Jammu & Kashmir Teacher Forum (JKTF) under the chairmanship of Abdul Qayoom Wani was held at Jammu where all the office bearers of JKTF expressed their concerns over ‘divide and rule’ policy of Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) by organizing “cosmetic show” of about 70 teachers to “counter historic rally” of 30th January by Teachers Forum.

Wani said, “JKTF, School Education Employees Coordination Committee (SEECC) and Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) never protested against any official and we are protesting for solution of genuine demands of employees of J&K State from last 20 years.”

“DSEK is attributing everything to his position to please the political bosses just to curb the trade union movement under this grab and on the other side DSEK is begging for press note support from so called trade union leaders and his relatives to hide the chaos and confusion prevailing in the department due to the wrong policies of Ex-Education Minister, Commissioner Secy Education and DSEK,” he added.

Alleging DSEK of using office to manage a cosmetic show Wani said, “if DSEK intends to get a reaction from teachers then Teacher Forum has no objection to show him the real face by flooding Lal Chowk with teachers in retaliation”.

Wani said, “we don’t want any confusion or chaos to prevail in the department and our priority is that teachers should be in classes but are ready to face any challenge from the power corridors”.

Wani said, “DSEK should stop divide and rule policy and malafide propaganda against the trade union movement otherwise he has to face the wrath of 5 lakh employees of the state in future.”

“We are not against anybody and don’t want the education system to derail. Our priority is our future-the students, and we won’t allow anybody to play politics in the Education Department and to tarnish the image of teaching community by opening fake Facebook accounts,” he said. (KNS)
