One Hundred and Sevety Seven (177) cases of aspiring entrepreneurs sponsored by JKEDI under different schemes were approved during the Steering Committee meetings held at JKEDI, Pampore.

The 98th Steering Committee Meeting of Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS) and 48th  of Youth Startup Loan Scheme (YSLS) were held under the Chairmanship of Nirmal Sharma, IAS, Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, J&K Government. Those who participated in the meeting were Dr M I Parray, Director JKEDI; Sushil Khajuria, Deputy Director Employment Department, Manzoor Ahmad Rather, Vice-President -(A&AP), J&K Bank Limited and sectoral experts from line departments.  Khajuria represented Director Employment Department J&K in the meeting.

Out of 169 cases placed before the Committee under SCFS, 130 cases involving the total project cost of Rs.1478.55 lakh including Seed Capital of Rs.447.77 lakh were approved.

Decision in respect of 11 cases was deferred as more clarifications were sought by the Steering Committee.  These cases will be considered in the next Steering Committee meeting after the relevant issues are clarified. One case was rejected as the candidate was found already involved in business.

Out of 61 cases placed before the same Committee under Youth Startup Loan Scheme, 47 cases were approved involving total project cost of Rs.327 lakh including beneficiaries’ contribution of Rs.32.70 lakh.

Decision in respect of 13 cases was deferred as more clarifications were sought. These cases will be considered in the next Steering Committee meeting after the relevant issues are clarified.
