J&K Bank has successfully restored functioning of all its business units (branches) in six out of ten districts in the flood affected Kashmir valley. So far, 359 branches have been made operational. The bank has 379 branches across the valley.

The districts in which all branches have been made functional include Anantnag (54 Branches), Bandipora (14branches), Baramulla (52 branches), Ganderbal (19 branches), Kupwara (34 branches) and Shopian (18 branches).

In district Srinagar, the bank has made 70 out of 88 branches functional which includes restoration of functioning of the Residency Road and Poloview branches. Notably, Residency Road, Srinagar branch is the first branch of the bank which was made functional in July 1939. It was for long time also known as the registered office of the bank under the Companies Act.

Just one branch in each district of Budgam, Kulgam and Shopian, is pending to achieve cent percent functioning of the branches. Remarkably, the bank has a network of 46, 24 and 30 branches respectively in these districts.

Meanwhile, customers thorugh different mode of transactions withdrew over Rs.83 crores upto 2 PM from these functional branches. Almost Rs 8 crores were withdrawn through 216 functional ATMs of the bank across the valley. Over 23000 transactions, financial &non-financial, were conducted till 2 PM through these ATMs.
