J&K Bank Sunday announced examination dates for recruitment of Relationship Executive posts scheduled to be held on 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th September 2015 across various centres in J&K. “It’s for the first time that such exams are being held online,” a company statement said this afternoon.

The examination specific instructions including details of the venue, date, timing of the examination and login ID & password of online examination are mentioned in the call letters available for download to the candidates on the bank’s website www.jkbank.net from today (August 31, 2015).

“Following the announcement of exam dates, RISE, a local educational institute set up in 2012 by Mubeen Masudi, an IIT Bombay Alumnus is launching an android APP for this online examination. The APP has been developed by the team of IITians at the institute to help candidates appearing in the Bank’s RE exam to get acquainted with online pattern of the examination. The APP will be free for download on all android phones and tablets from September 1(Tuesday) onwards on www.rise-institute.com,” the statement added.

“When we spoke to a few aspirants of Relationship executive, we realized that there was sudden drop in their confidence levels when they learned about the examination being online instead of the usual paper-pen format. This phobia stems from the fact that across the education sector in Kashmir, the technology plays a minimal role. A lot of aspirants, who might be good enough to crack this exam, might lag behind owing to lack of familiarity to this format. Since, we had already developed a test taking APP for our students and JEE aspirants across the state, we decided that we extend it to J&K Bank RE aspirants as well,” the J&K Bank statement quoted Mubeen Masudi as having said.

Speaking about the functionality of the APP, Imbesat Ahmad, an IIT Kaharagpur Alumnus, one of the developers of the APP, said, “The APP will allow the user to take Mock tests which would be very similar to the exact RE exam. The experience would be a simulation of the exact examination environment as the tests on the APP would be timed for 1 hour, just like the actual exam. The pattern and number of questions would also be exactly the same. Once students start taking the tests we would be analysing their performance and would be sending them reports and suggestions on improving their scores. This is a great opportunity for students to not only get familiar with the pattern and format of the examination but also to streamline their preparations.”

Meanwhile, according to the notification of the bank, a link for demo/mock online test is already available on the bank’s website for hands on experience.

Notably, the bank has also notified to the candidates eligible for appearing in the exam that there would be one-fourth negative marking for each wrong answer.
