J & K Bank Monday inaugurated its ATM at Manzgam, Kulgam. The ATM was inaugurated by the Zonal Head (Kashmir, South), Mohd Maqbool Lone, in presence of Cluster Head Kulgam Malik Shabir Ahmad, Branch Head Iftikhar Ahmad and scores of valuable customers, traders and senior citizens of the area.

The Zonal Head while speaking on the occasion explained in detail the progress made by the bank while leveraging technology in the bank for the convenience of customers. He informed the audience that under the stewardship of bank’s Chairman & CEO Mushtaq Ahmad, the bank is taking every possible step to reach unbanked and underbanked areas of the State by opening new business units and spreading network of ATMs across the state.

The Zonal head impressed upon the people to make full use of various schemes and facilities offered by the bank.

Meanwhile, the Bank convened a District Level Review Committee (DLRC) Meeting of Rajouri District for the financial year 2014-15 at PWD Dak Bungalow Rajouri. Chaired by DDC Rajouri Ms. Deepti Uppal, the meeting was attended by (LDO) RBI Santosh Kumar, DDM NABARD Des Raj, senior officers from district administration, bankers and officers of line departments.

LDM Rajouri Anoop Bhat briefed the house about the achievement of banks during the period under review.

He said, “Deposits in the district rose from Rs 2123.90 cr to Rs 2345.20 cr registering a YOY growth of 10% while as advances grew from Rs 509.10 cr to Rs 612.77 cr registering a yearly increase of 20%.”

Out of the set target of Rs 280.58 cr for priority sector lending under the ACP 2014-15, Rs 195.25 crore were disbursed. Out of which Rs 42.17 cr was disbursed under Agriculture Sector, Rs 35.34 cr under Micro and Small Enterprises, Rs 0.72 cr under Education Sector, Rs 11.80 cr under Housing Sector and Rs 105.22 cr under Other Sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC Rajouri directed the banks to improve CD Ratio by lending liberally and finding additional avenues for lending within the present scenario and infrastructure.

She also impressed upon the agriculture department and banks to provide KCC to every farmer and ensure speedy disposal of cases with no pendency. She expressed satisfaction on successful implementation of EBT (Electronic Benefit Scheme).

Bandipore Camp

The bank’s FLCC Bandipore conducted various awareness programmes at various places of the district namely Markoot Gurez, Wanpora Gurez, Zalpora Sumbal, Kudara Bandipora and Benlipora Bandipora.

During these camps, Facilitator FLCC Abdul Sattar Najar informed the people of these areas about the basics of financial planning.

He educated the participants about Jan Dhan Yojna Scheme, its benefits especially the insurance and overdraft facility, importance of the Debit Rupay Card. He explained the recent insurance schemes (PMJJBY and PMSBY) to the audience in detail.

Financial awareness camps were also conducted in various higher secondary schools and high schools of district Bandipora namely Dawer, Izzmarg, Hajin and Zalapora.

The teachers and students in these educational institutions were briefed about various banking products like Savings Bank, Small Savings Bank, Recuring Deposit, Child Care Deposit, Educational Loans and Housing Loans.
