SRINAGAR: Parvez Ahmed, Chairman & CEO J&K Bank on Monday dedicated a fully equipped Gymnasium cum health club for boys and Indoor Recreation Room for girl children developed by the Bank under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative at Balgran.

Balgran a nonprofit and non-government organization, established in 1975 for the care of orphan children, including large number of girls. It provides free education and hostel facilities to under privileged children from the state, particularly Jammu region.

Interacting with the children after the felicitation of the meritorious children in the Annual Function, Ahmad urged upon the children to overcome the challenges and difficulties in life by emulating the lives of great men like Mahatama Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastrii and APJ Abdul Kalam who despite all the drawbacks in life rose to the highest positions in and set the best examples for the future generations. He advised the children to trust their dreams and chase them with sincerity and hard work to realize them.

The chairman reiterated the Bank’s commitment to sponsor all those children at Balgran who achieve excellence in academics and are selected for professional courses within and outside the country. He also eulogized the efforts of the trustees, management and teachers of the Balgran and Bal Bharti Public School who selflessly devoted their time for the welfare of the children.

After the prize distribution, the Chairman announced cash rewards for four meritorious children which he said were being announced to encourage more such children to excel in academics and extracurricular activities. The management of Balgran expressed gratitude to the Bank for liberally supporting the Balgran organization and school under the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of the bank. They appreciated the keen and sincere interest expressed by the Chairman and CEO J&K Bank Parvez Ahmed in the welfare of the inmate children of the Balgran.
