Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh immediately after the Legislative Assembly started its business at 10 A.M on Monday informed the House that water level in Jhelum at several places has crossed the flood alert level and most of the Nallahs in the valley are flowing with high and increasing discharge. He also presented district wise details of the areas inundated due to incessant rain and over flowing of Nallahs.

The Deputy Chief Minister informed the House that 3 control rooms have already been set up with Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed along with team of Ministers personally monitoring the whole situation in the valley and supervising the administrative response to safeguard life and property of people.

He also informed the House that some persons have been feared caught in land sinking incident in Chadoora, Budgam adding that Deputy Commissioner along with team has rushed to the spot and rescue operation is on.

He said Government shall also be informing the House about situation in Jammu province as soon as report is received in this regard.
