A delegation of Jamaat Islami Sunday led by its spokesperson participated in the Namaz-e-Janaza of Raqib Bashir at Zadura Pulwama.

Raqib was killed in an encounter in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.

The delegation of Jama’at paid rich tributes to Raqib Bashir and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family, a Jama’at statement issued here said.

“Thousands off people from the adjoining areas participated in the funeral prayers despite police restrictions stopping people from leading towards Zadura,” the statement added.

While denouncing the police restrictions, the spokesperson termed the restrictions unjustified.
