Syed Ali Geelani has told the visiting Delhi delegation that frequent repetition of Atoot Ung, integral part, and the unconditional talks are contradictory and could not go together, political sources told Kashmir Life. He has shocked the delegation by offering them details about last 109 days and insisting that there is no space available for him and his colleagues even to talk or to pray.

It all started with plain water, sources said. Then it went to Kehwa. The meeting continued for over one hour, 1.15 hours to be exact.

Though veteran BJP leader insisted that they have come in their private capacities to share the pain of the people in Kashmir, he dropped many hints insisting that Delhi was willing to talk and have a final solution. He said Delhi was not escaping from an unconditional dialogue.

Informed sources said that after being sounded after the visit, Hyderpora had worked properly and drafted detailed presentation about the recent happens, during the last 109 days.

Sources said they were visibly shocked when they were offered details of the costs that Kashmir paid in last 109 days. Killings apart, it detailed the number of people injured, jailed, blinded and the material costs, sources added.

Geelani told Sinha that unconditional talks and insistence of integral part do not match and cannot go together.

The ailing separatist told the visiting delegation that he has not been permitted to move out of his home in last six years, even not for prayers. “How can things move forward when you do not permit three of us, even to meet and talk?” he asked the delegation. “You have 15000 people behind bars right now, set them free and create space for political activity.” He also told them that there are two vehicles parked permanently outside his residence to record and monitor every person who is around or gets in.

Geelnai gave him his charter of six things that he wants to be implemented as CBMs, a prelude to any serious exercise.

The delegation later visited Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his Nigheen residence. He had been home barely 24 hours when the delegation knocked at his residence. The cleric later told the reporters that he may not be able to offer any idea about the coming days unless he is able to meet his colleagues – Geelani and Malik.

While JKLF leader Yasin Malik has reportedly refused to meet the delegation – sources said Wajahat Habibullah had rang him up, the members of the team later drove to police station Rajbagh to meet Shabir Shah and Zafar Akbar Bhat. The latter finding Sinha missing created a scene and protested. They, however, met the delegation and put across their point of view.

The delegation is meeting Chief Minister and Governor on Wednesday. Mobilized apparently by Ms Sushobha Barve of the Centre for dialogue and Reconciliation (CDR), the delegation comprises former finance minister Yashwant Sinha, Air Vice Marshal Kapil Kak, journalist Bharat Bhushan, and old adviser on Kashmir to Nehru family and bureaucrat Wajahat Habibullah. The latter has been a J&K cadre IAS officer who later became India’s first Information Commissioner.
