Zakir Ahmad Tantray succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS on Friday, a day after he was injured in an explosion in forest area of Kupwara district.
Sources said that 17 years old Zakir, had gone into the woods in Hafruda area near Kalmuna village to collect timber when the explosion took place.
They said the blast had ripped off one of his legs, following which he was evacuated to SKIMS in Soura in a critical condition.
Sources added Zakir succumbed to his injuries today.
