Both the factions of Huriyat Conference Friday strongly reacted to the statement of the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh that Government of India has no plans for talks with the resistance leaders here, saying “such an approach will lead New Delhi to nowhere.”

Huriyat Conference (M) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that GoI has resolved to pursue militarily in Kashmir and has given up its political approach towards addressing the Kashmir issue.  He said such tactics would not deter Hurriyat from striving for the Kashmir resolution and that the amalgam will continue with its efforts till the objective is achieved.

“The recent statements coming from GoI about AFSPA revocation and dialogue with the separatist leaders indicate that India is trying to go for the military approach on Kashmir and deny people the basic rights at large,” Mirwaiz said, adding that such tactics would not deter Hurriyat anymore.

Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani said the amalgam was never supporting the present system of talks with the GoI and never ever waited in queue to hold dialogue with New Delhi.

“We have already rejected such a system of talks but at the same such a fanatic approach would lead India nowhere,” Hurriyat (G) spokesperson Ayaz Akbar said.

Pertinently, Home Minister Rajnath Singh had earlier on Friday said that there is no proposal for holding talks with the separatist leaders.

He added that people of Kashmir must not get misguided by the pro-Pakistan elements.
