Supporting the strike call by separatists on the eve of death anniversaries of Muhammad Afzal Guru and Muhammad Maqbool Bhat on February 9 and 11, militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen Monday said that “martyrs” never die and they will always live in the hearts and minds of Kashmiri people for whom they sacrificed their lives to safeguard their future.

In a statement to CNS, Salim Hashmi, spokesperson of Hizb while quoting outfit chief Syed Salahuddin said, “it is the obligation and responsibility of the progeny to honour the blood of the martyrs. Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru didn’t bow before the occupiers. They are alive and present in the hearts of the people. From Maqbool Bhat to Mufeed Bashir, martyrs laid their lives for the same Kashmir Cause.” The outfit paid rich tribute to Mufeez Bashir alias Raqib of Zadoora who was killed in a gun fight with forces at Gundipora Pulwama on Saturday.

“Conspiracies against Kashmir freedom struggle will be thwarted. Nobody will be allowed to compromise with the blood of martyrs. The on-going struggle will bear fruits,” Salahuddin said.
