The Handwara woman, who was hit by a bullet in her head, is no more.

Earlier, sources at SKIMS said that she was “brain dead”.

A doctor attending her had told Kashmir Life, “she is unconscious and can’t be operated upon.”

She was identified as Raja Begum (70) of Langate. She was working in her fields when she was hit by a bullet.

The death toll in Handwara case reached three.

Two youth were earlier killed in forces firing when protests erupted following molestation bid by an army man.

Forces resorted to firing after on angry protestors in North Kashmir’s Handwara town early Tuesday.

 “The lady, identified as Raja, was hit by a bullet in her head,” a doctor attending on her in emergency room of SKIMS on bed 8. “She is unconscious and we can’t operate upon her.”

Another boy hit in his chest is being operated upon in emergency OT of SKIMS this time. He was identified as Rayees Ahmad.
