The Government Tuesday on the floor of the House admitted that in the “Agenda of Alliance”, the Coalition Government has promised to explore modalities for transfer of Dulhasti and Uri Hydro Projects to Jammu and Kashmir as suggested by the Rangarajan Committee Report and the Round Table Reports.

This was stated by the Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh who is also the Minister for Power in response to a question raised by National Conference legislator from Khanyar Constituency Ali Muhammad Sagar.

The Minister said that there is no truth in it that Union Power Ministry during the visit to Jammu and Kashmir has refused to hand over any of the Power Projects. “The Power Ministry has not refused to hand over any of the power projects to the state and no such decision has been recorded in the meeting held by Union Minister of State for Power on June 15, 2015 at Srinagar,” the Minister said.

In response to the question that power supply position has worsened miserably, the Minister said that power position supply was at its worst during NC-Congress rule. “We will improve the power position supply and will not allow it to get worsened as was the case during the previous government,” the Minister said.
