Father of slian militant commander: Muzaffar Ahmad Wani

Muzaffar Ahmed Wani, the father of popular slain militant commander Burhan Wani Tuesday said that the government’s decision to compensate them for the killing of his son Khalid Wani has vindicated his stand that Khalid was innocent and was murdered by Army just for being the brother of Burhan Wani.

Pertinently,Jammu and Kashmir government has announced compensation for Burhan Wani’s elder brother Khalid Wani who was killed by army on April 13, 2015. The 25-year-old Khalid was a student of political science at the Indira Gandhi National Open University. The Army had claimed that he was a part of militant group who fired upon the patrolling party, the claim that was refuted by the family and locals that time.

“It is really good news for me. At least government has now admitted that my son was innocent and was killed in cold blood by Army. It was my demand to inquire into his death and today’s government’s announcement vindicated my stand that Khalid was innocent and was murdered for being the brother of a militant,” Muzaffar Wani told local news agency CNS.

Responding to a question, Wani said that God has given him everything and he doesn’t need compensation. “What is important that government of the time has accepted that my son was innocent. Let the government approach me and I know what I have to do then,” Wani said.
