Joint Coordination Committee of Government Employees Monday castigated state government for taking what they said “inhuman and undemocratic” measures to “suppress the voices of government employees”.

JCC threatened to launch a state wide agitation against the incumbent government.

“Are government employees not part of the society and have they no right to participate in the funeral procession of those innocent civilians killed by PDP led government. If sacked government employees are not reinstated and if the suspension order of Abdul Qayoom Wani is not revoked and arrested employees leaders are not released, over 4 lakh government employees will hit to roads and expose the gory policies of the present government,” a group of employees leaders led by Shabir Ahmed Langoo told news agency CNS.

He that this government is completely insensitive to the sufferings of people and now employees are being targeted for “none of their fault”.

“It is irony that without any proof and departmental inquiry all but 12 employees were sacked and employee’s leaders were detained. This is dictatorship whereas rules are being thrown to winds,” he said and added that October 25th will be observed as ‘Black Day’ and if Government will not budge all the employees will hit to roads and will shake the foundation of the present government.

He said that the trade union rights and other democratic rights are openly under attack and in Kashmir legitimate concerns of the people are brutally suppressed without any minimum concern for the rule of law.

He said that termination of employees is one more addition in the long list of “arbitrary and undemocratic” acts of the government.
