Srinagar: As police sealed the residence cum office of senior separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani in Hyderpora as stated by his spokesman, the octogenarian and ailing leader Saturday released “Rooh-e-Deen Ka Shanasa’’ third volume in presence of his office bearers and leaders of party.

Accusing police of erecting barricade, spokesman of Geelani said “state administration once again deployed police in strength where people from different walks of life & literary world were expected to attend the book release function. Later the book was released amid office bearers and leaders of party only.”

Spokesman said that ’Rooh-e-Deen Ka Shanasa’’ is a great literary contribution of Geelani and penned down during his house detention. “There was an increasing demand from public and literary quarters and as such a selected dignitary were invited to the function, however police again sealed the whole area and no one was allowed to enter the premises,” he said.

Spokesman said that book will be available with Milat Publications and on leading book stalls of state.

Pertinently the book was scheduled to be released on April 23, however nobody was allowed to cross the barricades erected ahead of the residence of Geelani.
