Hurriyat (g) activists protesting detention of Hurriyat leaders and youth across valley on the call of Syed Ali Geelani today after Friday prayers.

Octogenarian Hurriyat chairperson, Syed Ali Geelani, was Friday once again stopped from offering congregational prayers.

Strongly condemning his continuous house detention, Hurriyat Conference Committee for Human Rights chief Zamrooda Habib said that it is 32nd Friday in a row in the PDP-RSS rule when Geelani was barred from performing his important religious obligation.

Terming this “cruel approach” of the government as interference into the religious affairs of Geelani, Zamrooda said, “it is an open violation of the international human rights charter according to which every person has a right to preach and practice his religion and belief.”

Zamrooda Habib condemned in strong words the continuous detention of Hurriyat leaders Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Ghulam Nabi Sumji, Sayeda Asiya Andrabi, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Mehraj-ud-din Kalwal, Rayees Ahmad Mir, Mir Hafizullah Islamabad, Abdul Gani Bhat and arrest of more than 40 Palhallan youths.

She appealed international and local human rights organizations to take strong notice of the atrocities of Indian imperialism in Kashmir.
