Dr Zahoor Ahmed Shawl, a prominent social activist and son of a former Congress MLA Wednesday joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the presence of senior party leaders.
Dr Zahoor Ahmed Shawl, who is son of three time Congress MLA Bashir Ahmed Shawl joined PDP along with his supporters in a function which was held at PDP office this morning.
Prominent among others who joined PDP along with Dr Zahoor Ahmed included included Adv Ashfaq Ahmad Shawl, Gaurav Gupta, Varun Mahajan, Sanjeev Gupta, Vasu Mahajan, Dimple Kumar, and Ganesh Mangotra
A prominent figure of Rajouri district, Shawl was persuaded by district president PDP Rajouri Abdul Qayoom Dar and party candidate advocate Choudhary Qamar Hussain to join the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Shawl said that he has decided to join the party due to pro people policies of the PDP. He further added PDP is the only party in J&K which is pursuing progressive and pro-people agenda and it is need of the hour to strengthen this party for the welfare of the people.
