One Border Security Force personnel was killed and three others were injured as Rangers on the other side of the fence resorted to “unprovoked” firing at Indian posts along the international border in Jammu district on Wednesday, defence sources said.

The incident took place at around 11.40 this morning, they said. “Pakistan Rangers fired at Pital post of the BSF in Arnia sub-sector of the RS Pura sector,” a police officer was quoted as having said.

They added that BSF troops belonged to 192 Battalion. And the injured have been shifted to hospital.

India and Pakistan always exchange firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir and IB in Jammu areas and they allege each other of violating the ceasefire.
