Fire engulfed 240 MW power project URI II on Thursday morning and destroyed one of its units completely, official sources said.
They added the fire started suddenly at 6 am in one of the four underground units and it was going on.
“We tried to go in at around 10:30 but the flames and smoke stopped our teams,” an official in the project said adding fire tenders and the experts are monitoring the situation and we hope that fire will not destroy the remaining three units.”
