Independent legislator from Langate and AIP chief Er Rashid Sunday accused PDP led coalition government of harassing majority community in Jammu province and said that divisional administration is acting like “stooges of Hindu radical forces”.
“Er Rashid has assured people of Rajouri, Poonch and adjoining areas that we’ll never allow radical elements to curb their rights and Kashmiris despite being victims of same nature will stand against communal forces in Jammu,” an AIP statement said Sunday evening.
He said, “the way a citizen namely Abdul Hameed and his wife were ruthlessly beaten by state sponsored rouges is no way different from the brutal murder of Ikhlaq Ahmad of Indian state of UP. This all seems to be a well organised plan to terrorise Muslims throughout India and these elements seem to be having full backing of administration everywhere. Let us ask government if a Kashmiri youth picks up even a small stone in his hands he is straight away jailed or detained under PSA and if police is not able to trace him, they violate all legal and moral norms and disgrace the family to which he belongs. May the district administration of Rajouri explain that how long it will take them to arrest the culprits involved in the incident. What sort of justice is that the office bearers of BJP are living no stone unturned to hurt the sentiments of Muslims and government is trying to cover-up the serious event by simply lodging FIR. People have a right to know why these sick minded people aren’t being booked under PSA.”
“He warned government not to underestimate the will and commitment of Muslims of Jammu whom all the political parties have been treating nothing beyond the vote bank,” the AIP statement said.
He further accused Muslim politicians of Jammu region of “succumbing under pressure of radical Hindu forces only to remain in corridors of such a power where they don’t have any authority to give justice to their own people except enjoying perks, privileges and red lights”.
