Independent legislator Engineer Rashid was Wednesday attacked by “RSS-BJP goons” in Domail Bhaderwah when he was on a visit to the area.
The ‘out of breath’ Rashid told Kashmir Life said that he was dragged down from the vehicle on road and his vehicle was attacked with stones.
“They (goons) were almost a hundred in number and carried stones, sticks and dangerous weapons,” he said.
Rashid claimed that police acted as mute spectators and didn’t stop the goons. “They were watching while I was being dragged and beaten by RSS, BJP goons.”
The MLA said that he has left Bhaderwah and is now travelling towards Doda.
Rashid’s Chenab Valley visit has already ran in rough weather. On Tuesday, he faced protest by BJP workers in Kishtwar.
