The EJAC President and JCC Leader Ab Qayoom Wani Tuesday called on state Finance Minister Dr Haseeb A Drabu in his office chamber at Jammu, the meeting lasted for 1 ½ hour.

The meeting discussed the issues of State Public Sector, Daily wagers, casual labours and other employees. The EJAC President put all the issues of Employees before the Minister and strongly pleaded for their resolution.

The Minister was assured that the employees and public sector Employees face heavy financial crisis and people are helpless. The state employees are at fore front to run the govt. machinery.

Near about 60,000 daily wagers, casual labours and temporary employees are waiting for their regularization.

“Due to unclear policy of Government with regard to their regularization their families are starving and they do not get wages in time. Their future is darkened and till now hundreds of daily wagers have lost their lives and fell prey to cruelty which is gross violation of human rights. The pay anomaly of different departments especially of pre revised grade Rs 6500-10500 and clerical cadre has not been moved,” Wani said.

Wani requested Finance Minister to release DA 6% in favour of State employees and Public sector and the pay of employees working under various schemes (SSA, RMSA, SBM, HPMC) be released at the earliest. The life of such employees has become unbearable.

“Provision of 7th pay commission be kept in favour of state employees, public sector employees and pensioners,” Wani told FinMin.

The EJAC President appealed the Finance Minister to implement 7th pay commission from January, 2016 in favour of State employees. “The delay in its implementation shall cause void between the government and employees and the confrontation between the two makes the people face the brunt. For the improvement of work culture government should resolve the issues of state and public sector employees which will directly benefit the people of the state,” he said.

The political interference is the great obstacle in the work culture EJAC won’t allow anybody to play with the honour of employees.

The EJAC President appealed the Finance Minister to use his good office for the restoration of credibility in this sensitive issue.

“The Finance Minister should see to the issue of thousands of employees working as Incharge in different departments and EJAC President expressed his deep concern on it in the education department, Lecturers, Headmasters, ZEPOs, ZEOs and principal have not been confirmed yet,” the statement said.

The Finance Minister assured that these issues will be resolved on priority and pending salaries of these employees will be released. (KNS)
