Langate Legislator, Er Rasheed has been suspended for two days from Legislative Assembly, after he protested in the house against the detention of a juvenile in Kot Balwal Jail.

The orders were passed by Deputy Speaker, Nazir Gurezi after Rasheed termed the Government response as “unsatisfactory.”

Parliamentary affairs minister, Abdul Rahman Veeri while responding on the issue had said that the age of Suhail Ahmad, was ascertained by District Magistrate Srinagar, and as per that report his age is 20 to 22 years.

Rasheed refused the report, demanding that school records should be taken on record.

“He is a school drop out and his age can be ascertained from the school records,” he said.

Meanwhile, talking to reporters outside the assembly complex, Rasheed said, “It would have added a lot of credibility to the house, if government would have investigated the case rather than disqualifying me.”

Rasheed said that he is correct with the details and if proven wrong he will resign.
