District Development Commissioner, Pulwama, Muneer-ul-Islam Saturday convened a meeting to review implementation of various schemes being executed by Rural Development Department (RDD) in the district.

Assistant Commissioner Development, CPO, BDOs, Assistant Executive Engineers and other concerned attended the meeting.

The ACD informed the meeting that during current fiscal till December, 2016, against the availability of Rs 13.28 crore under MGNREGA Rs 10 crore were spent fully, in the district.  He further said that out of 1338 works taken up 870 have been completed so far.

While reviewing the status of the projects taken up under convergence, the District Development Commissioner directed the officers to work with added zeal so that the set targets are achieved well in time. He said schemes like MNREGA and IAY are meant to create durable assets in the far flung areas and provide livelihood to the downtrodden. The meeting also discussed threadbare the progress made under IAY shelters.

The meeting was attended by ADC, officers of Police, Youth Services and Sports, Education, R&B, PHE, PDD, Health, Information, Municipal Committee, Floriculture, SDM Zainapora, CPO Shopian and other concerned officers.
