People in Kashmir felt tremors on Saturday afternoon. However, the epicentre of the earthquake is yet to be known.
Geo TV reported that earthquake tremors were felt in Peshawar, Gilgit, Chilas and Islamabad.
The Pakistan Met department confirmed that the tremors continued for 30 seconds.
The earthquake measured 5.5 on the Richter scale, the Met department added.
People panicked and ran out of their houses.
Details of the damage done is still being confirmed.
