Fire brand independent MLA from Langate Er Sheikh Abdul Rashid was deported back to Srinagar by a team of Kishtwar police while he (Rashid) was on its way to Kishtwar where authorities had imposed Curfew on Sunday following arrests of some persons allegedly involved in anti-India and pro-freedom sloganeering.

As per the details available with Kashmir Life, Rashid while taking ‘cover of darkness’ was on its way to Kishtwar to meet the families of those people arrested by the police in last few days and was also scheduled to address people at Jamia Masjid Kishtwar on Friday.

But before he managed to reach Kishtwar town, police party intercepted him near Parna village of Chatroo some 48 KM from Kishtwar town around 1 AM during the intervening night of Sep 17 & 28.

Rashid left his Srinagar residence around 7:30 PM and was accompanied by his four other colleagues including Inam un Nabi, his spokesperson.

The sources informed Kashmir Life that Rashid though tried his best to convenience the police team but he was taken in police jeep which was “roaming here and there all over the night”.

“Police later dropped us at Sinthan top and we again drove towards Kishtwar but the cops again stopped us and took Rashid sahab in their jeep and directly drove him to Srinagar,” Ina told Kashmir Life. Rashid was “forced” out of Kishtwar police jurisdiction around 3.30 AM last night.
