Minister of State (MoS) for Health Asiea Naqash Wednesday said that government is ready to meet all expenses of injured persons who need special medical treatment outside state or abroad and has directed doctors’ to recommend such cases to the government.
“If there are cases where an injured can be provided best treatment outside of state or abroad, government is ready to meet all his expenses. We have also directed the medicos to recommend such cases to government without any hesitation,” she told KNS.
She added that government is concerned about the recovery of those injured in forces action.
“We have directed the medical superintendents to purchase the medicines, drugs or anything they need to provide best treatment to these injured. We have given them liberty to purchase any requirement items from the market. Authorities don’t need any prior permission from the government in this regard, as directed,” she said.
She said that CM is personally seeking the reports about the health conditions of the injured and government has also directed authorities to make best available treatment to them.
“When there was any unfortunate incident, CM would call me to get the details about the number of injured, nature of injuries. She is personally worried and saddened with these unfortunate incidents,” she said.
“CM used to call me till midnight asking about the condition of injured. In morning, she would call me again to know the health conditions of injured. We had sleepless nights as our concern was to ensure save every human life. It was only to provide medicines to the injured but completely best treatment,” she said.
Admitting that it was tough time for the medical and paramedical staff, she said: “We hail the efforts of doctors and para-medical staff which rendered exemplary services during this hard time.”
She said that arrival of Dr Natrajan was a “liberty by government” to authorities to ensure best treatment to the injured.
“Treatment against pellet injuries is a simultaneous process. In first week, medicos observe that no infection is spread in the human body. We are concerned about those who have been hit by pellets in eye. We are extending all help to them,” she said while replying to a query.
