J&K Police on Tuesday said that it registered an FIR in Parimpora accident which led to death of a girl.

“Stone pelting led to death of a young girl today morning when she along with her sister was hit by a vehicle near Parimpora Srinagar. The vehicle was moving backwards and hit the girls as it came under stone pelting by miscreants,” the police said in a statement this afternoon.

The girls were identified as Ms Fozia and Ms Nadia, daughters of Mohammad Sidiq Lone, resident of Gulbagh.

“They were hit by a Cream colour Scorpio near Rogan Gali Parimpora. The driver while moving his vehicle backwards hit the girls as his vehicle was stoned by the miscreants early morning,” the statement said.

The girls were critically injured in the incident. Both the injured were shifted to hospital where elder sister namely Fozia succumbed to her injuries, the statement added.

“A case FIR number 222/16 has been registered and investigation has been taken up,” the police said.

Meanwhile, the police said, “one person namely Furqan Hamid, son of Abdul Hamid resident of Zoonimar was injured when miscreants pelted stones on him while he was riding a Scooty   near Allie Masjid Eidgah, Safa Kadal. He received injury in his head. The injured person has been shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment, where his condition is stable.”
