Meanwhile, government continued with strict curfew on consecutive day today in the Kishtwar.

As per the details available with Kashmir Life, a police team from police station Kishtwar raided the house of Syed Manzoor Ahmed at Tund village situated in the outskirts of Kishtwar town and arrested his son.

Police sources identified the detained youths as 22-year-old Syed Asif. He is a student of a polytechnic college.

Syed Asif, according to the locals, was arrested by the police around 10:30 PM last night. The arrested youth was lodged at police station Kishtwar and was booked under sedition.

The locals informed Kashmir Life that the family of the arrested youth originally belongs to Kashmir and had shifted to Kishtwar few years back.

Meanwhile, police sources said that he was wanted in an Eid-ul-Azha FIR.

“The arrested youth was also involved in taking part in various anti-India protests that took in Kishtwar district before he was zeroed in and identified with the help of local intelligence sources,” a police official said.

He said that earlier “there was confusion over his exact identity and his name had earlier been believed to be as Syed Yasir.”

“After detaining him, his identity was established and during investigation it was found that he is the same person wanted by the police and was later booked under sedition after proper preliminary investigation,” the cop informed.

“We are moving ahead with caution and are verifying the involvement of the persons before arresting them – it will help us to arrest the right person and minimize the risk of arresting any wrong person,” said the senior police official.

He said that arrests of persons involved in “anti-India” activities will continue till the “desired results could be achieved”.

Meanwhile, curfew remains continued in Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas on 3rd day today.

The officials of district administration and police will hurdle in the afternoon to decide about any further relaxation in curfew today.

The administration has announced curfew relaxation for two hours last evening from 4 PM to 6 PM which went off peacefully.

The curfew was re-imposed in the district without any further extension soon after Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar, Farooq Ahmed Kichloo, made announcement of shutdown call on loudspeakers against Kishtwar arrests and demanded release of all the persons arrested by the police from Kishtwar in last two days.

Kichloo had called for shutdown today.
