It was on July 14 this year that last cross Line of Control (LoC) trade activity was witnessed in North Kashmir’s Uri.

Due to the prevailing conditions when Kashmir is shut for consecutive 81 days after at least 88 civilians were killed and over 13500 others injured, the trade resumed on Tuesday almost after two and a half months.

Custodian Trade Facilitation Centre Salamabad, Farooq Ahmad Shah, told Kashmir Life that twelve trucks crossed over to Muzaffarabad carrying red chilli and cloth.

“Eleven trucks carried red chilli,” he said.

However, only one such truck was received from the other part of Kashmir. “It carried cloths,” he said.
