People from several areas of Zaingair including Warpora, Botengo, Shiva, Malmapanpora, Mundji are holding a freedom-cum-unity on Monday in Hatlangoo village in North Kashmir’s Sopore town.

Eye witness said that hundreds of people are attending the rally where pro-freedom slogans were raised.

Meanwhile today at around 1pm, police emerged in the said village and fired teargas shells and pellets to disperse off the people who were making arrangements for the rally.

Three persons were injured who were referred to local clinics, said a local.

The injured were identified as Tanveer Ahmad (hit by pellets in face), Manzoor Ahmad (hit by tear gas shell in hand) and Shazia hit by pellets in back.

Last night, police raided Nowpora area of Sopore around 12:30 AM. They arrested an 11th class student. He identified as Ishfaq Majeed, s/o Ab Majeed Dar.

However, today, the situation throughout Sopore remained comparatively clam.

Forces were deployed in some areas including Super Bazar, Main Chowk, Arampora, Shalpora, Muslimpeer, Ashpeer and other sides of Sopore town.
