Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar has asked for fool proof security arrangements for Muharram congregations and celebrations of Navratras at all the places, scheduled from October 3, 2016.

He also stressed for coordination among all ranks of JKP and other security agencies to ensure peaceful congregations and festivals across the State.

Rajendra was interacting with all range DIsGP and District Superintendents of Police of Jammu and Kashmir Zones through video conference from Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today.

The conference was held to take stock of the arrangements made for the Muharram congregations, Ashoora processions, Mahanavani and Dussehra festivals.

On the occasion, the DGP was briefed about deployment of personnel, coordination among the forces and communication network to ensure smooth conduct of these auspicious occasions.

He directed the officers to hold joint meetings of respectable in their areas of jurisdiction to seek peoples cooperation for maintaining law and order during these occasions. He instructed them to keep vigil on activities of anti-social elements in their areas so that no untoward incident takes place.

He stressed that while making police bandobast and other security arrangements, people should not be put to any inconvenience while taking part in these religious functions.

During the video conference, Rajendra discussed the security scenario and reviewed the law & order situation of all the districts of the State. He asked the officers to coordinate with other security agencies and help in minimizing the problems of common masses.
