Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Monday conducted a mega awareness programme for unemployed youth of district Ramban.

The Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) held at Dak Bungalow, Ramban was attended by more than 500 educated unemployed youth of the district, a statement issued by the Institute said this evening.

MLA Ramban, Neelam Langeh was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Langeh urged the JKEDI to conduct such programs at Block and Panchayat level.

He also asked youth to take up entrepreneurship as career option to earn decent livelihood.

Chief Programme Officer JKEDI, Dr Majid Manzoor Khan gave a brief about the work of the institute and unemployment scenario of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He said both State and Centre are giving sufficient attention to entrepreneurship in J&K.

On the occasion JKEDI also felicitated its 10 successful entrepreneurs of district Ramban and presented them mementos.

Earlier Irtif Lone, JKEDI Community Organiser detailed out different schemes being implemented by the institute for entrepreneurship development in the state.

Azmat Hussain briefed the gathering and guests about the work done by JKEDI in district Ramban.

The educated unemployed youth were made aware about different entrepreneurship development schemes being implemented by the institute for unemployed youth of the state.

Others present on the occasion were Assistant Director Employment, Project Officer District Industries Centre and District Officer Pollution Control Board.
