The Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has lauded the “performance” of the State government for timely utilization of funds and undertaking several reformative measures in the health sector during the previous financial year.

The Union Ministry, as per a communication addressed to the State Chief Secretary, has appreciated the good work of the State Government for its timely utilization of funds on various projects and taking several health sector reforms, for which the State has earned an incentive of 4 per cent over and above the stipulated resource envelope for the current financial year, an official spokesperson said Wednesday evening.

The Union Government has urged the State Government to continue to strive for further improving things on ground to provide better medicare to the people.

Meanwhile, Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat has expressed happiness on the feat and conveyed his felicitations to all the functionaries of the department.

He said it’s a matter of great privilege for everyone in the department and described it as a collective achievement.

He said that the move will inspire the functionaries and instil new energy to work with more vigour and dedication in future as well.

The Minister also lauded the extra-ordinary and exemplary work by the doctors, para-medics, drivers and all others during the current unrest in the Valley, saying that they worked tirelessly to save precious lives, even without caring for their own safety.

Government appreciates their excellent work and expects the same spirit and enthusiasm in future as well, said the Minister.
