Late night pro-freedom protests erupted in Rangreth area in Srinagar outskirts late Wednesday night.
Local reports reaching here said that at least two vehicles of forces entered the main Rangreth around 10 PM.
“A word spread that forces are raiding the houses and making arrests,” local sources said, “soon announcements were made on Masjid loudspeakers asking people to come out on road and resist the raids.”
The local sources added that strong pro-freedom protests are going on in the area this time.
Sources said that the area witnessed intense clashes during the day in which at least five persons were injured.
Meanwhile, pro-freedom protests were being raised in Old Secretariat area in Lal Chowk, however, the exact location could not be known immediately.
The pro-freedom sloganeering could be heard as far as Partap Park.
